OUR STORY
Our story starts in Hermosa Beach, CA where Grandma Hale “Ganny” managed her own duplex for more than 30 years. She inherited it from her mother who inherited it from her mother (Tante) who bought the property in 1924. As the legend goes, Tante could only afford half the lot because she only had $10. Being a widow with two kids, she bought the land and built a duplex, and as they say, the rest is history.
In 2008, I (Josh Craven) took over the management responsibilities after finding out Ganny had not raised the rent in more than 20 years. Her reason for such generosity was the “tenants never bothered her.” My response was genuine yet simple, “who would when you are only paying $500 and living a block from the beach,” hence, the launch of CRG Properties.
In 2009, I was presented with an amazing opportunity to join Kristen Walker and her family to buy and sell homes they were purchasing at the courthouse steps in Riverside, CA. This kicked off an eleven-year run where I have been fortunate enough to participate in many investment opportunities ranging from fix & flips, apartment conversion and mobile home parks to mortgage banking, private money and seller carried notes.
These stories and more, have not only provided priceless experiences but shape the foundation for what is now a full-service real estate firm. Embodying the values of success, CRG Properties embraces the opportunity to be a recognized voice in the real estate industry for years to come.
